Solar flares have been extremely active which means that the aurora is expected to be brighter and more dynamic than it has been in years. We will position ourselves at the best places to photograph these lights in Reine, with red fishing villages and dramatic snow capped mountains, and along the beaches and coast north of Leknes.

ITINERARY
DEPARTURE Feb 16
- Depart the US for OSL, Oslo International Airport
DAY 1 Feb 17
Oslo - Reine
- Arrive at Oslo International Airport
- You will be greeted by Jennifer
- 1:00pm - Check-in for domestic flight from Oslo - Leknes
- 3:00pm - Flight departs for Leknes
- Transport to the historic village of Reine
- Check in to your historic cabin
- Meet & Greet with dinner to prepare for our workshop
DAY 2 Feb 18
Reine
- We will spend our nights chasing lights
- Back to cabin in time for breakfast and rest
- We will also have an occasional sunset or sunrise during the workshop depending on how busy we are with northern lights
DAY 3 Feb 19
Reine
- We will spend our nights chasing lights
- Back to cabin in time for breakfast and rest

DAY 4 Feb 20
Reine - Hattvika Harbor
- Breakfast, pack and check-out of our Reine cabins.
- We will drive north and check in at our cabins at Hattvika
- After a warm dinner, we will head out to the coast to chase the lights

Hattvika Harbor
- Breakfast followed by rest
- Visit to a local glass blower
- Sunset along the coast followed by night of chasing lights
DAY 6 Feb 22

- Breakfast followed by rest
- Sunset along the coast followed by night of chasing lights
DAY 7 Feb 23
Hattvika Harbor
- Sunrise along coast

- Return to hotel after night of chasing lights

- Time to pack up and begin the journey home
- Domestic flight from Leknes to Oslo.
Note: Any return flights home should be booked after 8:00pm on February 24th OR the following morning. (If you need to fly out the following morning, we can assist you with booking your hotel at the airport)

LODGING - 7 nights lodging included based double occupancy. Private room available for $1100 USD.

DOMESTIC FLIGHT - From Oslo to the Lofoten Islands
WELCOME DINNER & BREAKFASTS* - All other meals are not included in the workshop fee, but we like to dine as a group to discuss the day’s events and be on hand for any questions.
WATER & SNACKS - Water and snacks will be provided while we are out in the field
PROFESSIONAL INSTRUCTION during all field sessions, including sunrise, sunset, & night sessions as our schedule allows
PROCESSING CLASS on site or via Zoom after the workshop
*Breakfast is included with your lodging. However, if we photograph longer than breakfast hours, breakfast will be your financial responsibility.

A NOTE ABOUT THE NORTHERN LIGHTS:
Northern Lights and nature can not be guaranteed. However, the prediction is strong, and we expect to have multiple nights over the period of the workshop where the aurora should be visible.

Please review our full cancellation and refund policy prior to registration as there are non-refundable and non-transferrable fees associated with each workshop.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Our workshops are designed for all skill levels and involve photographing sunrise and sunsets as well as other field sessions. While workshop locations vary, you should expect to walk relative distances with your equipment. Some workshops are more strenuous than others. If you have any health issues or concerns, please reach out to us prior to registration.
FITNESS LEVEL
EASY > MODERATE
Most spots we will explore are considered easy to navigate, though there may be some incline, uneven or wet ground that you need to walk on to get the optimal shot. You should be in general good health and capable of carrying your own equipment while we are out in the field.
FLIGHTS & ARRIVAL
OSL - Oslo Int’l
The above airport is the closest airport to our workshop location. You are always welcome to arrive early or depart later and settle in and explore before the workshop begins/ends!
EQUIPMENT
While we recommend certain equipment for our workshop, it’s not necessary for you to participate. Check out what our trip leader’s suggest & plan ahead for rentals, borrowing, etc.
IMPORTANT ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE NOTES
Please plan to arrive at OSL no later than 11 am on February 17, 2026. You can always arrive early - Radisson BLU Airport OSLO is a 100 steps from the front door of airport.
Please plan your return flight from OSL to the U.S. after 8 pm on February 24, 2026 or the following morning. You may prefer to stay the additional night and depart in the morning.
